Robert Downey, Jr. expressed relief that he didn’t have to campaign last fall for the The Soloist, a film in which he plays LA Times journalist Steve Lopez. “I wouldn’t have been able to work it with all the zeal of the highly professional whore that I am.”

I love this man’s work. Because of Less Than Zero I never, ever felt the need to experiment with drugs and end up dead in a convertible.

Seriously, though…this man is a phoenix.

My one question is…wasn’t there a brilliant enough Latino actor to play the role of Mr. Lopez, the journalist he portrays?

Downy® is a fabric softener. Downey is a cinema family. Robert Downey Sr is the auteur of one of my all-time favorite movies, Putney Swope. Hilarious, particularly if you were in the ad biz when the movie came out.
