Birmingham, Alabama senior police officials are in serious trouble after a surveillance video from a January 2008 arrest came to light during a suspect’s trial revealing police brutality had occurred and been covered up by the force.

“What had happened was,” a group of Birmingham police officers beat an already-unconscious Anthony Warren who had just been thrown from a minivan after leading the cops on a high-speed car chase where he tried to run over a cop himself. When he landed on the ground, seemingly unconscious, (we totally thought he was dead), a group of six cops beat him with fists and a billy club and kicked him repeatedly. Warren had no idea when he came to, assuming his bruises were from his car wreck.

The fucked up part is that the officers involved were all fired THAT DAY, but the Police dept. NEVER TOLD ANYONE. It only came to light this week during Warren’s trial and even he was shocked to learn that he had been beat up by the cops.
