Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno and 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw, both Latinos from California, have emerged as possible candidates for the Supreme Court.
Moreno is described as liberal on social issues and moderate to conservative in criminal justice cases. Moreno was a key vote in last year’s decision to eliminate California’s ban on gay marriage.
Wardlaw is considered a moderate, although more liberal when it comes to social issues like civil rights.
