Here’s proof that that anything can happen in the cruel realm of soap-opera intrigue. The list of Daytime Emmy nominations announced today includes lots of shocking omissions, including TV’s highest-rated soap — “The Young and the Restless” — from the lineup for best drama series and “The View” from the programs competing for best talk show.
