Carlos Beltran Gets Second Opinion On Possible Season/Career Ending Surgery

The beleaguered Mets received more potentially scary news as center fielder Carols Beltran flew out to California to consult with Dr. Richard Steadman, inventor of the microfracture surgical technique which replaces torn cartilage (it’s actually pretty cool). The technique has had some success in the past, but for every TMac that walked away from it charging into the playoffs there’s a Jamal Mashburn that’s forced to retire. So, vaya con dios to Beltran and the Mets. Fingers crossed.
