Dennis Leary Defends Padre Alberto Cutié And Gay Marriage

Comedian Dennis Leary, a “lapsed Catholic” was on Larry King Live Saturday talking about Padre Alberto Cutié with guest-host Joy Behar.

“This is like comedy from God. A priest who wants to get married named Father Cutie,” Leary said. He also said he thinks priests should be allowed to get married–including gay priests– if the Catholic Church wants to “wake up and get into this century.” “Celibacy did not come from the mouth of our Lord. It came from somebody in the Catholic Church saying, ‘Hey, look, these Popes are having babies and the babies grow up and they want land.’”
