Gerrit Blank, 14, Survives A Meteorite Impact

German Tee, Gerrit Blank, 14, has survived a meteorite hit making the second person ever to have survived (and be hit?) by a meteorite. The meteorite was about the size of a bean and traveling 48 kilometers per hour. All he’s got is a small 8 centimeter scar in his hand.
“At first all I saw was a circle of light in the sky and then I suddenly felt pain on my hand. A second later I heard a loud sound.”
Asngar Kortem, director of the Hohmann observatory in Germany, says ‘Most meteorites never make it to the ground because the disintegrate while they enter earth’s atmosphere.’
I’m sure this will be Gerrit’s tale to be told for the rest of his life.
