Jailed: Tyler Weinman AKA Florida’s Cat Killer

A Miami judge has ordered the teenager be charged with the killing and mutilating of 19 cats. He’s to remain in custody and undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

”I’m concerned about his safety and the safety of the community” said the judge who is detaining Tyler Hayes Weinmanfor at least 48 hours. She set bond at $249,500.

Weinman, 18, was charged with 19 counts of felony animal cruelty, 19 counts of improperly disposing of an animal body and four counts of burglary. Each of the felony counts carries a minimum mandatory fine of $5,000, six months in prison and psychological counseling.
