Spanish Actress Sara Casanovas, who has appeared in many soap operas and television shows in that country, was attacked by a deranged fan who shot a flaming arrow at her at the end of a play she appeared in yesterday in Madrid. The 25 year-old Casanovas had become the obsession of a German man authorities identified as 39-year-old Arndt M. (They don’t give last names in Europe–lame.) Arndt has been sending Casanovas love letters for 18 months and he attended her performance in Night of The Iguana last night at Madrid’s Reina Victoria Theater. As the actress exited the the theater after the show, Arndt fired a flaming arrow from a crossbow. The bow barely missed Casanovas’ face, and did hit a nearby man, but was caught up in his jacket which saved him from serious injury.

Police arrested Arndt and found, in his military backpack, two crossbows with their replacement parts and plastic arrows with harpoon-type arrowheads, a container of gasoline, a thick rope and a thinner cord with a hangman’s noose at either end, together with a poster from a play Casasnovas appeared in three months ago. Creepy fuck.
