Have I Mentioned I’m Related To The Enchilada Queen Of Houston?
11 June 2009, 12:08 PM. By Cindy Casares
Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen, long a westside favorite in Houston, has gotten its second rave review for its new location right outside the loop near the Galleria. The owner, Sylvia Casares, is my aunt. Previously, the Houston Chronicle’s Greg Morago named her the Enchilada Queen of Houston. Click on her enchiladas to read the latest review of the new location from Alison Cook.
UPDATE: My uncle tells me Jacqueline Smith of Charlie’s Angels was there yesterday!

love that place!
You don’t even mention you have an award winning enchilada queen to your good friends—-I want some fuc$%ing enchiladas!!!!!
Is she the same one that kept offering Oscar a job that short amount of time he worked at Pappasito’s? One of the most entertaining stories I’ve read in the past few years in Texas Monthly, exp. since I also had my time in hell in a chain “fancy” Tex-Mex establishment. Family owned places are so much more awesome.
* “esp.”, not “exp.”. Dang close keys on the keyboard…
The very same.
Mmmmmm. I would suck on tia’s meaty gravy any time of the week.
Watch it.
