After delivering a speech to the Campus Progress National Conference in DC, former President Bill Clinton finally announced support of full marriage equality for gays and lesbians for the first time. As recently as two months ago he had spoken coyly about his position on the subject “evolving” after a Presidency that saw the Defense of Marriage Act and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policies, but this is the first time he has declared full support (he still, however, feels that this is a state, not federal, issue.) He joins a bunch of other fancy Northern Liberals like Chuck Schumer, Howard Dean and Jon Corzine who publicly back equal marriage rights, because they’re godless.
