Charlie Villaneuva And Ben Gordon To Try To Get The Detroit Pistons Back To Awesomeness

The AP reports that the Pistons have landed free agents Charlie Villaneuva and Ben Gordon from the Bucks and the Bulls, respectively, setting the stage for one of those mythic “rebuilding” years Detroit really needs and deserves. Remember that bad-ass team that somehow beat the Lakers in the Finals? Remember Sheed and Ben down low and Chauncey tearing it up in the front? Wasn’t that just, like, three days ago? Gordon and Villanueva will join a new coach (TBD) and that stinker Allen Iverson, but not Fabricio Oberto (who was waived Wednesday for cap space).

These are bad moves tho, no? Charlie V is talented but erratic and Ben Gordon is another version of Allen Iverson who caused such a malady last season. Who’s going to start? Stuckey, Gordon, Hamilton, Charlie V, and Tayshaun!? Didn’t they try that with Sheed and AI last season to resounding failure?
