Pvt. Deandrez Robertson was sentenced yesterday to forty years in a military prison for the beating death of a fellow soldier, Pvt. Pernell Robert Flowers, at Ft. Bliss in West Texas. Pvt. Flowers died seven months after a vicious attack in which he was beaten three times with a baseball bat: one swing to the face, one as he was falling, and one in the chest when he was laying on the ground. The attack came in response an earlier incident in which Pvt. Robertson pointed a shotgun at Pvt. Flowers and two other soldiers at an off-post convenience store, which was later reported to superiors. Sounds like the US Military lost a real winner here.
