New IPhone Purity Ring App Moves Creepiness Into Brave New World

A British software developer hopes to curb teenage promiscuity with “a novel application”: an iPhone app that shows a spinning purity ring on the screen of a chaste owner. It is not as of yet officially affiliated with the US Silver Ring Thing organization, which created the promise ring in 1996, but there is hope that the companies can successfully join together in promoting comically futile abstinence education on both sides of the Atlantic.
