Oh, here we go. Lawyers with insider knowledge have revealed to the New York Times that Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz were among the 104 MLB players to test positive for steroids in 2003. The pair, who made up the core of the Red Sox’s world series championship teams in ‘04 and ‘07, tested positive during the “free pass” steroid testing survey the MLB did to decide if steroids needed to be banned for the 2004 series. A few big names had already leaked here and there (like A-Rod and Sammy Sosa), but this is the first time the two of them have been implicated.
