Robert McNamara, the architect of the Vietnam War, died today at the age of 93. It is the rapture, folks. His family told the press that he died at his home in Northwest Washington. They gave no cause of death, but we’re going to guess that age had something to do with it.

McNamara was a captain of industry before becoming the Secretary of Defense during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. He most recently was in the public eye when he sat still for an entire documentary about his tenure in the Pentagon. Below is a clip from that movie called, The Fog Of War, which won an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2004.

In 1995, McNamara published a memoir where he announced that he had come to the realization that the Vietnam war was a mistake. He also had the coolest middle name ever: Strange.
