In the recently released Neuroreport article, Swearing as a response to pain, some scientists have finally verified what our dad has been teaching us since we were born. Upon an unexpectedly painful event if you say puta madre or hijo de la chingada it makes you feel better. In fact, now there is scientific evidence that swearing increases pain tolerance and decreases your perceived pain compared with not swearing. Therefore, talking shit is like taking aspirin.
