US MNT To Face Mexico In Gold Cup Final On Sunday: Be There
24 July 2009, 2:04 PM. By Alejandro Paz
Oh shit balls, allegiances will be strained this Sunday in the Meadowlands at3pm Eastern when the US Men’s National Team faces El Tri of Mexico. Each team has blazed through the Gold Cup to face off in what should be a thrilling final. Mexico has played terribly against the MNT for a few games, but they’re burning up the pitch lately. The match will be televised on both Univision and Fox Soccer Channel so when we’re feeling the Mexis we’ll go to Univision but if the US strikes first we’ll probably stick to FSC. It’s hard being both American and Mexican on a day like Sunday. Most of the time, it’s great to be ethnically ambiguous (e.g. women seem to love it), but it’s never good to have allegiances to two teams that play each other frequently. This Sunday, the US MNT and Mexico will play for our heart. May the best team win.
