CDC Wants All American Men Circumsized

The Center For Disease Control thinks your foreskin hoodie isn’t helping out with the HIV epidemic:
“We have a significant H.I.V. epidemic in this country, and we really need to look carefully at any potential intervention that could be another tool in the toolbox we use to address the epidemic,” says DR. Peter Kilmarx, chief of epidemiology for the CDC’s division of HIV/AIDS prevention. “What we’ve heard from our consultants is that there would be a benefit for infants from infant circumcision, and that the benefits outweigh the risks.”
As is, 79 percent of Americans are already circumsized. Circumcision, however, has dropped in recent decades. Probably because it’s not a very good idea to begin with.
“Experts acknowledge that a new circumcision policy is unlikely to have a dramatic effect in HIV infection rates, as most adult men are already circumcised. Additionally, scant evidence exists to prove circumcision protects homosexual men from getting HIV.”

circumcision is nasty. I would never cut my sons nor sleep with a man who has been cut. it’s just so…mutilated like.
Circumcision is primitive and barbaric medicine. Circumcising a baby to prvent AIDS? They wont be sexually active for 15 to 20yrs, and where will the state of medicine be in 15 to 20 yrs with vaccines and disease prevention? SHAKES HEAD at CDC!!!!
It’s also a religious ritual with traditional meaning and cultural significance. I’m not saying that’s not a reason to disagree with the practice, but calling something many people view as a sacred ritual “primitive” and “barbaric” seems unnecessary.
this is one of my favorite conversations to start at the lil’ ol’ watering hole when things get a lil’ stale. it always surprises me how passionate people are on both sides of the situation.
What is so bad when you leave man intact?? Why the foreskin is being demonized and STD(sexual trasnmited diseases) are transformed to FTD (foreskin transmited diseases). Do you even know how tough was to ban female genital mutilation??? Female are now freed from opresion nobody is cuting their organs, so why dont we do that for men also?
