Want to learn more about President Obama’s health care proposals, and also feel like getting your Brooklyn indie/psych thing on? well, the Fiery Furnaces are happy to oblige, as they’re using their shows during Congress’s summer recess to get their fans fired up for health care reform. They write on their MySpace, “Why not have some information at your merch table, letting people know how they can support health care reform? Why not put someone on your guest list who can talk to people about how they can support health care reform?” They also encourage fellow indie bands and websites to follow suit. Their August tour winds through the South, so we can hardly wait for all of their shows to degenerate into armies of old White people shouting at them and calling them “LIARS!!”
