Rob Zombie To Remake The Blob

Director Rob Zombie is set to remake the 1958 classic The Blob. Zombie says he’s been meaning to break out of the horror genre and into sci-fi. One significant change in his version will be that the titular blob will no longer be a red, gelatinous thing that might not translate as frightening to 2009 audiences. SIgh. We’re cautiously optimistic, because (although there’s already been a remake) this movie is one that’s itching to be updated for modern audiences.
