Roberto Clemente Jr. was in Syracuse Wednesday working with players of the minor league Syracuse Chiefs and conducting a clinic for a group of central New York’s Latino children. We all know and love his dad, who died in a plane crash on Dec. 31, 1972, on his way to take emergency supplies to Nicaragua at the age of 38. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame a year later. Maybe Jr. can’t play baseball, but he can still help the kids.
