Bring It On: The Musical

Because Jesus loves you, He’s decided to go ahead and greenlight a musical adaption of the iconic cheerleading movie Bring It On. The show has some pretty big talent working on it:

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt — recent Tony winners for “In the Heights” and “Next to Normal,” respectively — will compose the music, with Amanda Green (”High Fidelity”) providing lyrics. Jeff Whitty (”Avenue Q”) pens the book.

Exciting! Producers are aiming for regional staging in early 2011. 

Also, fun fact: For no reason whatsoever, the office is decorated with giant paintings of cheerleaders’ crotches today.
