Kanye West Blog Apology: Roll Your Eyes Here
14 September 2009, 9:13 AM. By Cindy Casares
Yesterday Kanye West stood up for the integrity of the MTV VMA’s–an awards show that is, essentially, a youth marketing package–by interrupting Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video. “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time,” he told her, stealing the mic in the middle of her wah about how country artists have such a hard time crossing over to MTV. “One of the best videos of all time!” He said again, in case you didn’t hear him. Taylor was left looking dejected. The audience booed Kanye. Beyonce, from her seat, tried to look outraged, but couldn’t hide her delight. Kanye was ordered home before the show was even over and, there, he took to his blog to scribe one of his all-caps specials. It’s supposed to be an apology, but it’s more of an “I’m sorry y’all hate me for what I did, but I’m keeping it real.”
To add embarrassment to Kanye’s misbehavior, Beyonce’s video took home Video of the Year. Although, yeah, it coulda won both. Why be all diplomatic and shiz? Unless, there’s a marketing plan to push Taylor this year?
