willie00_williams_spts_jsembeddedprod_affiliate56 Former University of Miami linebacker Willie Williams was arrested Thursday in an Atlanta suburb and charged with burglary and reckless driving after trying to evade police in his car. He is in the Gwinnett County Jail in Lawrenceville, Ga., after being denied bond for the felony charge of burglary.

Once upon a time, it was thought Williams had a promising football career. In his college days, Williams was regarded as the nation’s top recruit at linebacker, but since college, he has been in the pokey more than he has been on the football field. So, his career is likely cooked.

Williams had been living in a hotel room and working at a training camp hoping to get signed by a professional team. That is, until he pulled a professional job and stole a long list of goodies from an acquaintance’s house while they weren’t at home, including:
an XBox 360 gaming system, a Nintendo Wii gaming system, digital cameras, four iPods, a Palm cellphone, Dell desktop computer, Dell laptop computer, several hundred dollars in cash, several pieces of jewelry — and more.”
