The Style Network has a new reality show, “Dallas Divas & Daughters.” They cast five different mother-daughter pairs for the show because the network advertised it as a look into the relationship between mothers and daughters in the Dallas social scene. But after the premier episode, I can tell you that this show is just a rip-off of Bravo’s Desperate Housewives collection.

And yet, I’m still going to watch because the one thing I do find interesting about this show is the Latina mother-daughter combo, Patricia Alcorta and Jacky Fierro. In the premier episode, the pair were invited to a polo match and, being true “Brown Timers,” showed up 2 hours late! Also, I can’t help but watch a show where the mom, Patricia, sports Sharpie eyebrows and a cleavage-revealing, polka-dot dress to a polo match.

Their specific nationality has not yet been mentioned. Another mom on the show did refer to the “D.F. and Monterrey” so my assumption is that Patricia and Jacky are Mexican. But their nationality doesn’t really matter much to me, I’m more interested in the way they are going to be portrayed on the show. The producers gave each mother-daughter pair a nickname and Patricia and Jacky are called, “The Wannabe’s.” (Is someone at the Style Network reading Guanabee?) Even their Bio on the show’s Web site describes Patricia as “a fiesty and popular gossip” and Jacky as having a “unique look.” My curiosity of how Texan Latinas will be portrayed on the show is overflowing and I am definitely going to be watching this one.
