Last Saturday at the 2010 SXSW Interactive Festival, Guanabee editor Cindy Casares and Anyguey Associate Editor Fidel Martinez took part in a core conversation entitled Austin: Latino Internet Capital of the World. There we, along with Paul Saucido of La Banda Elastica and Aldo Ramon of Apple, attempted to let people in on a little secret: that Austin is in fact the Latino Internet Capital of the World. (Well, it is since we moved there. Hey-o.) The Austin Chronicle's Belinda Acosta was so impressed that we brought in some infamous breakfast tacos (courtesy of El Chilito) that she Mexted them to her blog and local public radio station KUT tried to poke holes in our story but ultimately decided we were right. (Listen to their report here.) Community Impact also seemed to feel we made an, uh, impact on the Latino internet community.

Whether or not people were convinced, they liked the conversation enough to show up at our Latino 2.0 happy hour later on at El Chilito on Congress Avenue. We took a few pictures and thought you might like to take a look. Also, if you're really interested in what we had to say at the conference, head on over to Marketing Latinos to see video of the entire thing.
