Still Weird: When Vicente Fernandez Kisses His Son Alejandro Fernandez On The Mouth

This is one of those things that's been floating around Latinoland for years but, no matter how many times I see it, it just seems weird. Weird because he's Vicente Fernandez, the grand Mexican charro. If my memory serves me well, Vicente justified his peculiar PDA by saying he's been kissing his children in the mouth since they were kids "out of respect." Sure, I can hesitantly buy that, I guess. But here's the thing: If Bob Dylan kissed Jacob Dylan I'm sure most people would just be like "oh, well, that Bob is just one of those liberal beatniks" and think nothing else. But, again, this is Vicente Fernandez -- his music is what drunk, pistol-waving, womanizing machos fuck to. 

I'm gonna stop myself from getting all Labyrinth of Solitude on Chente but, yeah, this is one conflicting -- and bewildering -- picture. Enigmatic, even.
